I've had my Rugby II for about a year, and I love it. I've also had many other types of phones over the years, and in this age of complex electronics, the RugbyII stands out as an exceptional phone for those of us who don't need a computer in our right (or left) hands. Those who require a smart phone to exist, this is not the phone for you.
Rugged, easy to use, easy to hear...I can not say enough good things about it, except that if it ever crashes, I'll get another one.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, does everything i ask it to do, easy to hear callers, beautiful in its simplicity, love the outdoor settings, texting is easy-buttons are big enough for fingers, has ptt navigator and more
Cons: have not found a one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Many good and some Bad

I use my phone for business as well as personal use. I purchased my Rugby after destroying several others. This phone is very rugged, battery last a long time and fairly easy to use, however the PTT is in a very bad location for folks that dont use it...90% of the time I hit the PTT button when I open the phone....I am not into all the texting, aps, taking pictures etc..just want to talk..Most of the "extra" things that come standard on most phone will cost you extra with this one..If you want a phone to talk on, this is the one...If you want all the bells and whistles..and dont want to pay for them, this ain't the phone for you. If you have an unlimited phone budget and got all the extras, I would recommend this phone. It is a little pricey for what I use a phone for but the ruggedness is worth it for me.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Durable
Cons: cost too much for what you get.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Samsung Rugby 2 is a quality phone

This is my second Rugby. I am not gentle with a cell phone and I tried the iphone and Samsung Evergreen. The iphone kept loosing internet connection to our home wifi and the touch screen was frustrating for me. I thought I might break it if I carried it around in my back pocket, and I didn't want it hanging on a belt holster. The Evergreen has small buttons for my large hands and was difficult for texting. I am glad I chose the Rugby 2. Also, I might add I have been very pleased with the quality and reliability of Samsung products.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, sturdy & quality built

This phone can really take what's dished out to it! I'm rough on phones and I've worked underneath cars and trucks with this phone on my belt. This piece gets put through the wringer and keeps on going strong. I would like a little more battery life, but it gets by.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
Cons: needs more battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect size, it curves just right to get the microphone in front of your mouth. Feels like the rugged phone it's desgned to be. It would be nice to disable/reassign the PTT button to something else; and more options for re-assigning the other buttons as well. The MicroSd card slot should be accessible without pulling the battery. A normal headphone jack would be nice, but that is another possible entry point for dirt & water; so I can understand not wanting that. Could use a better desktop sync application, and more options for the addres book display/editing.
this was my first samsung cell phone and it will and did stand up to 3 pool dunkings and one toilet and many many falls as high as 20' feet high!! this phone is a smart phone and up to military spec's and it really is up to all you can do to it and I know and have heard the rugby lll is just as good and even better in some ways!!!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, tough very tough, can take a fall & keep ticking, can take a pool and as soon as it is dry it works, toilet's no problem!! it will dry & work, you can almost use it under water.
