if your prone to disable a cellphone you would be hard pressed to hurt this one.. the only thing i don't like about it .. are the buttons on the sides.. they are easy to hit.. i am still learning it but wouldn't give it up for anything..
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as advertised

I picked out this phone as a birthday present. It has good write ups and so far I found these few problems. The phone was said to be open source. And it does answer calls on my service ( other than AT&T) and will do texting. Other than that it is a brick. If you don't have AT&T for service all the other capabilities are worthless. The PTT button I noticed is a big pain but I fixed that with a bit of Clear sealer around the edges. I have noticed that I have to re charge it almost every day though and will be purchasing a new battery for it. Hopefully that will solve that problem.
I do like the feel of the phone. Being thicker and easier to handle. the Speaker works very well. It's like Getting a quote from an Insurance company. They say OPEN SOURCE But only part of it is open. Samsung really needs to make a phone like this that will actually work on all GSM systems completely. Haven't thrown it at anything yet but there is still time .
Pros: Built-in speakers, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No Network Selection
on October 1, 2010

Not having network selection under connectivity has made phone service poor here in Mexico. We get stuck with Movistar instead of Telcel. Movistar is an old old system technology wise.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: no network selection
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rugby II is very impressive!

From the first feel, I could tell that the phone was tough, and that was the most important design element for me. With a good camera, great battery life, wide variety of features and outstanding voice quality, this product has served me well. I'm not a texter and have no need for web based applications, but am impressed with the Rugby II and all that it offers.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, volume level, crystal clear sound quality
Cons: no standard headphone jack, average antenna strength
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just Got it
on October 6, 2010

Well, it does not have phone recording like I wanted. I like the big buttons, rugged style and size. I don't like you have to go through so many options to get a simple thing done. I'll try it out for a bit and get something else if it doesn't pan out
Pros: Bright display, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just purchased the units

I found that the DVD in the box with the phone is not for the rugby II but for a different model . the inclosed booklets are vage.
Ilso have not been able to download pictures to my laptop I have to remove the chip from the phone in order to download pictures in the computer.
Samsung needs to include the proper dvd and booklets in the box with the unit. But the radio function works very well nno matter the location
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
Cons: lack of instructions
I would recommend this to a friend!
