Rugby II Purchase--a huge mistake
on December 8, 2010

I recently purchased a Rugby II after my Nokia flip phone broke after 4 years. It was a huge mistake that I will regret until I replace it or return it. The phone has a "Push-to-Talk" button on the outside that gets pushed every time I pick up the phone and I am required to push "Not initialize" every time before using the phone. I have now learned that there is no way to turn off this function. After searching on the internet, I've discovered that thousands of Rugby II owners are having the same problem. It makes you wonder if the engineers that designed the phone ever tried using it? How many people would actually want to use this phone as a walkie-talkie, anyway?
Pros: Durable
Cons: ptt button
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Phone

I am an avid outdoorsmen, have two rowdy boys, and use alot of features. This phone is rugged and up to the test. I am out in sub-zero temps to pouring rain and my phone has never faild me yet. Some of the buttons are in odd places but once your used to them it's not so bad. Overall good phone!
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable
Cons: buttons
I would recommend this to a friend!

All cell phones should be made this way. The phone we replaced was accidentally dropped into the washing machine! I would not recommend testing a cell phone for abuse in this manner, but I do believe THIS PHONE would have survived! The key is the rubber seal around the battery case. The phone functions flawlessly and has nice menu options to work through. I highly recommend this phone!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone is built to military specifications.

I'm sick of getting pretty phones that get destroyed within a year of using them. If you are complaining that this phone is large or clunky, then you should not have purchased it. This phone is built to military specifications...tough, water proof, shock and temperature resistant. If you wanted something thin and stylish you should have gotten a razr. Personally I love this phone, its basic, sturdy, and nice.
Pros: military specifications

Bulletproof and has plenty of features for not being a smart phone. I personally don't need anything but a basic phone, however I've lost my phones to drops, washes, and abuse in the past.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!
