TRULY FIRST OF IT’S KIND ….I AM LOVING IT

No words to speak ….If I have say something ,I would say one word awesome .I thought to buy NEX-7or NEX 5n .As I already have Nikon D3X and I was looking for portable light waited good performance near to DSLR and I mostly use manual mode. I came across beautiful piece of marvelous creation .I was as thrilled as when I got my first IPHONE. It has everything I needed may be higher up models have bit better sensor but I don’t care this is good enough and perfectly suited to my present needs for little handy one .Plastic casing was little bit annoying at first because should be more careful which is obvious but it turn it to super light weighted and easy to handle with one hand and most important it has perfect curvature to hold it firmly with single hand all the weight you feel is like holding 55mm len that perfect to me .And New piece cost less on other online sites. Using some internal and external flash and filters ND 3-400,ND graduated you can do wonders with this little one .
What's great about it: Super light weighted and easy to handle with one hand and most important it has perfect curvature to hold it firmly
What's not so great: plastic casing should be more careful but made it super light weighted

Great camera as usual. These guys put out high quality products unlike some other countries. I trust Sony Name and you get great shots. Love the new firmware which makes nice looking color shots. This will get you shuffling....can't stop taking pictures.....
What's great about it: Small
What's not so great: video plays on screen - need confirm

Packs a mean punch

I had this camera for about one year now. It takes stunning pictures! The stock camera lens is great. PS You can turn up the viewfinder brightness for the beach so you can see. Great camera!
What's great about it: More than enough Camera for most
What's not so great: none unless your are Professional

Excellent camera

I won this camera from a PC magazine drawing for completing a survey. It's a huge step up from the Kodak 4 MP camera I've used for years., I'm taking excellent pictures that are right up there with my brother's Nikon D5100.
What I did not know that the camera had been discontinued months before I won it. Hey, but it's free!!! The issue is that many of the camera specific accessories are no longer available on the Sony store or elsewhere. Come on. The camera's only been discontinued a few months and it's still for sale. Don't be like Cisco with their Flip. Keep accessories available for a reasonable period of time.
My only other criticism is battery life. That's why I bought a backup battery.
I love this camera for it's quality, speed and ease of use and hope to use it for a long, long time.

What's great about it: Speed, ease of use, photo quality, menus
What's not so great: Lack of accessories since discontinuation, battery life

Great Camera

The Sony Nex-3 is an excellent camera for those looking to break into the SLR class of photography. The menu lets you set your camera function for different settings such as night view, landscape, macro, portrait and auto-where the camera detects what kind of shot to take. If the the subject is moving, the camera sets itself to sports mode, where it shoots at a amazing 7fps. I would recommend this camera to anyone.
What's great about it: Smaller size actually makes shooting pics feel natural. Takes excellent pics. Menu is easy to use.
What's not so great: Extra battery is $80.

The Mercades Of Bridge Cameras

People buy DSLRS for the advantage of interchangeable lenses, narrow depth of field, large sensors, and shooting raw images. People buy compact cameras for their easy learning curve, portability and size. Why not have the best of both worlds? The menu is easy to navigate, it has fun compact features such as Panorama and HDR modes and can take interchangeable lenses. The sensor slightly bigger than most DSLRS that aren't full frame and the 18-55 kit lens is metal unlike most plastic & cheap feeling DSLR kit lenses, and is only $50 extra from the NEX 3 with the 16mm lens. A big bonus is the MF 7x zoom that helps making sure your subject is in focus, I didn't like how my DSLR I had to press the magnify lens button twice to digitally zoom for focusing. The 720 video is beautiful and free of the dreadful "rolling shutter" found on most DSLRS. Also having 2 memory slot cards is genius I have a 16gb class 4 sd card for video/photos and another 8gb class 2 card as backup. I recommend this to anyone looking to get serious with photography who doesn't want to lug around a heavy DSLR and lenses and have a comfort zone for compact cameras.
What's great about it: Easy Navigation, Interchangible Lenses, APSC Sensor, Pocket Size Body
What's not so great: None
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolutely stunning camera

This is an absolutely stunning camera, I cannot recommend it enough if you can spend the money. I think it was cheap on Sony's part though that they didn't include 1080P (seeing as how this and the nex-5 are practically identical. I also have had the plastic right by the on/off switch chip, on the second day I've had it nonetheless. (not even from dropping it/etc, just switching it on)
Really, If you can spend the money, and are looking at this camera to begin with, I would strongly suggest purchasing it. It is absolutely stunning.
What's great about it: Compact, fast shooting, video function
What's not so great: if anything: plastic body, I'll go into more detail in the review

So far, so good!

This camera has all of the features of a bigger camera without the bulkiness of a big camera. I can carry it over my shoulder and my arm doesn't get tired. I like the tilt screen, and controls, but most of all, the size is awesome. I know i'll use this more because it's so easy to bring with me.
