Excellent watch with some disabled features...

After having the similarly priced Forerunner 265s, I thought I was upgrading to the Venu 3s. The latter has the new gen sensor (ELEVATE 5) that tracks skin temperature and probably has better accuracy. It can also detect heart Afib and that could be a handy feature for a 60 year old person...
The watch is excellent, like every Garmin. With a always-on-display turned off, it will easily give you a week of battery life (less than advertised but still way better then Apple and Samsung), it has many "smartwatch" features and I can't think of anything missing. But where it really shines is data, lots of data... From steps and recording every workout to HRV, stress, sleep phases, body battery and training readiness - it will collect as much as any other device short of Fenix or other high end Garmin watches.
The data is presented in a useful way but there are huge missed opportunities. The biggest one is not providing an option to look at the big picture - present all metrics in a Monthly view instead of daily. Daily data varies a lot but the value of health tracking lays in monthly view. It provides insight into health's real trending - the reason why we wear tracking devices in the first place.
A real disappointment is Garmin decision to actually remove access to watch data. As opposed to Forerunner 265s, on Venu 3s screen, one can not tap to different days in the weekly view to see the values (number) for each day. This is now exclusive to Connect app. Why?...

Love this so much more than my Apple Watch

I’ve been an Apple Watch user for about 8 years. I recently made the switch, as I’ve had less interest in all the smart watch features and more interest in my lifts and runs and body stats. I’m almost a month in and absolutely love everything about the data I get. The Garmin watches are always runner approved and promoted but really undersold for strength and lifting!!! I love the stats and tracking capabilities that are built right into the watch, without an outside app. I also love the way it looks!!!

I love this new Venu watch!! Way more informative with my runs and more workout options to have your watch follow.
Love the sleep tracking, how the watch can get less bright and change to a more subtle.
My biggest complaint is that no one has ever told me that the heart rate monitor will NOT be accurate if you have a tattoo on your wrist.
That being said, I did purchase this thinking my old one didn’t work but it would have if I had worn it on my other wrist. Not money wasted but might have waited a little before this expensive purchase.
Worth the money but don’t like it on my right wrist cause that’s backwards for a right handed person. The tracking is spot on and hasn’t dropped my heart rate at all so major plus.
Enjoy

I do like the style and all it does is my only issue it the inaccuracy of the weather. Never correct or some times even near the temperature outside. I have tried to get other weather apps to no avail

I'm very happy with my purchase. I had Fitbits before and I needed to buy often.. they wouldn't last. It got expensive so I thought why not put my money into something that's worth it. So far so good!

Completely worthless piece of crap !

It does not recognize most of my day naps and sleeps. It sometimes misses to even know about night sleep too. It has ghost steps that I realized when I wake up with some 50 or 70 steps. I think hardware at about 90% off the cost would do better job.

Great battery life compared to galaxy watch. Accurate biometrics. A bit expensive.
