I really like my Fenix 7 solar, but never used anywhere near it's capabilities. So I went for the Venu 3 to get most of the features at a smaller size. It works very well and meets my needs. One thing for all Garmins, I sure would like having wireless charging again.
Love that I don't have to charge it every other day like other watches by companies that make smart phones. Lasts me about 9 days depending on activity. I run about 13 miles a week and really rely on it tracking by VO2 Max, heart rate (I'm 62 so have to monitor this), fitness age and more. I ended up getting the Garmin blood pressure cuff and scale. Now my watch, scale and BP monitor all report to my Garmin connect for a nice wellness summary. Had my annual physical and my doctor was quite impressed. The Garmin tools to track fitness are just what I needed.
This is my first real smartwatch and it kicks butt. The long battery life, the fitness and health features. I was considering an Apple Watch since I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem but this is so good that I have no regrets whatsoever.
Long time owner and fan boy of Fit Bit, loved it’s evolution into the smart watch category. Thought the purchase by Google would only mean great things, waited and bought a Pixel 2, 1 had really low battery life so I assumed they would get it right with the 2. I was wrong, within a few months the watch overheated and I was sent a replacement. Battery never lasted over 24 hours, occasionally when going to bed with it at 50% I would wake up with a dead watch and no data, ridiculous! Loved the apps and integration into my Google Home but…
My loving wife feeling my frustration and being a long time fan girl of Garmin got me for my birthday a Venu 3. 14 day battery life? Right! Uh, it’s true, I am pleasantly surprised and impressed. Excellent assortment of apps for all forms of exercise and a few I had not heard of. Bit lite on ”Smart Apps”, really liked Google Home for Wear and used it frequently, there is an “equivalent” on Garmin’s app page and I’m still trying to configure it. At this time, less than 30 days, I am happy and look forward to my dive back into Garmin. I’ve owned many of their GPS devices for boat and auto, no clue why it took me so long to take this plunge!
My son gave me the Venu3 for my birthday. He has one. It was quite enlightening to learn all of the data it records. Heart rate, blood oxygen level, ECG, HRV status all quite remarkable from a watch! Body battery and sleep scores are also helpful. Now I know why I am so tired sometimes—terrible sleep score the night before! Step counter is also helpful to se just how much walking I do on a regular day, not to mention exercise. It has exercise app for everything. The flashlight is shockingly useful. Many more activities and apps. Lovin it!
I'm happy with this watch. It's intuitive, looks great, GPS locks in quick. App has improved. Does everything I want it to.
I'm coming from an upgrade from the original Venu watch, purchase 3-4 years ago. I was quite happy with my original Venu but after a couple years, it started suffering the dreaded screen burn-in and it got to the point where I just stopped wearing it. Garmin offered to replace the screen and/or exchange for a refurb watch.... but the price simply didn't make sense compared to simply upgrading to the latest & greatest. Sounds like that issue is resolved.
I've only owned this a few weeks now but I notice it's snappier, battery life is significantly longer, and GPS locks right in. I'm a fisheries biologists and I tracked myself wading a couple miles up a narrow creek in a pretty deep canyon a couple weeks ago - perfect and accurate results. Great satellite reception. I'm happy with it and would recommend for running, hiking, MTB. I haven't used it for alpine skiing but I anticipate it'll be as good/better than the original Venu, so looking forward to snow coming soon.
