Hoping this new one works better

This is my second chefman electric kettle. I am hoping this one, which is the 1.2L kettle which looks a little more updated works better then the 1.0L kettle I had.
I only had the 1.0L kettle for a few months before having to throw it away. It would pour out liquid from the seam on the bottom and would always boil over and get scorching hot liquid everywhere. I had to babysit the kettle and the second I would see it boil, I would have to immediately shut it off to prevent it from overflowing.
I’m hoping this new one works better with less mess. We will see.
