Honestly I use this kettle for everything from hard boiled eggs to potatoes and coffee it is the most versatile kitchen appliance I own. Love it!!!! FYI I use real lemon juice to clean the bottom. Just pour about a 1/2 cup in a cool clean bottom and let it sit for a bit and poof! Gone
