Buyer's Remorse

I bought this mixer as a Christmas gift to myself after my 35-year-old KA stand mixer gave out. I hoped the smaller size would be the perfect solution to the heft of the larger units. I've used this twice since I bought it and have to say it's a huge disappointment. The motor has trouble handling even a very soft dough. I wouldn't even attempt to use it for a yeast dough (the tiny hook is a joke). Batter crawls up the sides of the bowl and the mixing paddle doesn't reach the bottom. I'm sure the mixer is fine for cake mixes or other more liquid batters. I wish I had purchased the larger Artisan. Just an observation - I dismiss any review where the commenter has received a product, gift or sweepstakes entry in exchange.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Review of my retirement mixer

I decided to take the plunge and get a Kitchen Aid mixer after a less than stellar experience when baking chocolate chip cookies with a handheld mixer. It was a PITA. I bought my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and am very happy I did. My mother has one which she bought before the year 2000, when she was about my age. That is why I named my new mixer my "Retirement mixer" as I expect decades more of fabulous service from it. I made molasses crinkles with my new mixer and appreciated the ease of using it. I picked this model as opposed to one with a 5-quart bowl because of my smaller kitchen, but this mixer has more than adequate room for my recipes with its 3.5 quart bowl. I highly recommend this mixer.

I love this mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this mixer for about 6 months now, and it had been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. The smaller size and reduced weight is a big improvement compared to the traditional mixer.

Extremely disappointed

Out of the box the day it was delivered all attachments scraped the bowl no matter how I adjusted the bowl height. Called Kitchenaid. People were very polite, but said I had to wait four days for a return authorization label to be emailed. Today is the fourth day and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Never ever have had a problem with Kitchenaid products before. Hopefully this is a fluke.

Smaller than my Pro600 AND just as good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the KitchenAid Professional 600 but no longer have the multitude of people to cook for so the KitchenAid Artisan Mini 3.5 is perfect for pared down versions of many recipes...and I can use all my attachments on it too!

Perfect size!

I love my other two KitchenAid stand mixers (yes, I have 3 - all different sizes) but I don’t always need such a large bowl. It’s the perfect addition to my very busy baking arsenal. It’s super quiet too, and I love the red color

Perfect size for my kitchen

My Kitchen aid fits perfectly on my new shelf, but despite the size it is a powerful appliance. I have put it to the test several times and it has performed beautifully. I have already recommended this product to several friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially, I hesitated ordering the Artisan mini mixer, thinking it might not be powerful enough. However, I'm a believer after using it just once! It has ample zip and fits perfectly on my counter. I'm loving the candy apple red color, too!
