Actually sounds great as soon as your singing or acoustic volume fits into 75 db If you singing very loud just like some hardrock musicians do you have to keep your gain knob almost to zero which is not very smart as you are loosing some nuances. Just different gain pot would solve this...

Best mic ive ever used, i will pick up a comment that i made on a YT CHANNEL (Its not recorded with the mic, and also, i bought it, sounds even better than at2020 + blue yeti... 192khz 24bit, crazy quality and configurations, using it on a desktop and s23U works really well with all modes, even thought about doing ASMR, and i had a really bad quality mic stand, even that crappy stand could hold it without having any problems, im using the lyra mostly for VIDEO (TURORIAL RECORDING) and gaming + voip chatting (discord, teamspeak, Skype, zoom, teams meets etc.) really great, plenty room for configurations and if you want a real plug-and-play mic, that's the way. Works for every type of recording and audio style.)
First up is the material choice, which is weak flimsy plastic that feels horrible. The controls are also particularly cheap and nasty.
Second up is the sound. This is not great. The mic picks up noise from all directions and somehow exaggerates the background sound. Set the mic gain right down, and it is still a noisy mic.
You also need to be aware that it picks up every tiny little sound through its fragile stand.
Given that there is always some noise coming from a PC, with fans, etc. then you need to be aware that this will be the major sound that is recorded. You will need to gate and EQ this out.
This is a far less capable mic than many, and I have to say that it's not worth the money.
I just bought my new LYRA for my Mac Mini Intel (2018) running Big Sur 11.6 and my iPad Pro 12.9 (2018). Both work flawlessly once I plug in and connect with the right USB cable. The sound quality is very nice, high quality, reflecting my voice character. The mute button also works well with a pinkish indicator light. I have ponder back and forth before making the purchase coz' been reading lots of uncertain reviews about incompatibility with macOS Big Sur. I'm it turns out working perfectly here.
I loved this mic when my mac was using the catalina operating system. Very easy to use, fun to play with the sound settings and get rich results. However, I do not recommend buying this mic if you are using big sur operating system on a mac as it can no longer be recognized--and I've tried resetting EVERYTHING. This is a common problem per mac support forums since the upgrade. So although AKG advertised this mic as compatible with "Mac OS® 10.7 or higher", this is no longer true. Basically, any updated mac user cannot use this mic, it seems... I had less then 1 yr of use from it....
I used to use this mic and it worked well, but with the new MacOS update, it isnt even recognized anymore. Never buying again!
