High Class Sound at an Affordable Price Point

The ATH M50's are some of the most relied upon headphones in any industry - and rightfully so. The sound quality on these is incredible - and far superior to many higher priced headphones (beats, bose). I was pleasantly surprised to find that when listening to high quality audio files, the louder that I went, the more subtle nuances I picked up that I didn't hear before. This isn't to say you have to crank it to 11 every time you listen to benefit from these headphones - rather it was a discovery when I was testing out whether or not there was distortion that occurs with a lot of headphones when you blast the volume. The one down side is I do wish that Audio Technica used a more durable material for wrapping the headband portion. Through minimal use, mine is already cracking/peeling and it just makes an otherwise premier SOUND quality headphone appear, well less than high end.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Audio
Cons: Durability

This headset I have bought in 2010 is one of the few audio equipments I never thought about changing, or for the same one. Because the only problem I have found is that the upper band and the earphones are completely worn out and crackled. Keep it to this level, your products are excelllent. ;)
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Durable, Good Value, Great Sound
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for studio use and monitoring and some music use etc

These are great headphones for HiFi and studio, monitoring, mixing, etc music work. Studio use. But these aren't so great for just entertainment and casual normal use, usually. It really depends what you like. These show even the faults in some songs/video audio, because they are accurate, balanced, great for finishing audio and playing it/noticing issues if there are any. But these dont have much bass, I've noticed, not a lot of punchy boomy bass, that's why they are NOT my fave for music use and my electronic music entertainment listening. SO, Keep that in mind. If you just want great HiFi premium audio quality headphones for music, then maybe these are not for you. These are more for DJ's and Studio work :) but also work decent for some casual use.
Pros: Balanced Audio, Compact, Easy To Use, Good Audio
Cons: Not best for entertainmen, Weak Bass
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was looking for a set of high fidelity headphones and originally looked at Beats by Dre, because he is one my favorite producers. I tried them out, they felt nice and looked nice and the quality of sound was there but the price was really high. I looked around for others in that price point and clearly there were other professional series that easily handled Beats. So I looked online for comparatives and many people mentioned these ones including CNET. I completely agree with their review, they offer BETTER sound, excellent depth on the lows and mids, and they are pretty good on the highs. For less than half the price of Beats, the exact same size and bulk the ATH-M50 have no problem beating the Studio editions of Beats by Dre. I listen to alot of hip hop, electronica and heavy low end sound music and they sound amazing. Save yourself the money, and enjoy your music and productions more with the ATH-M50. Clarity is amazing levels are excellent, and the oversize design cancel out a lot of noise without that hallow sound. They are very sturdy, have better weight and more metal than beats by Dre. These do not have a control talk for cell phones, but for me I don't buy headphones for cell phones I buy them for music and music players. Don't bother with Beats, buy these instead and you will enjoy your music and be immersed in it, and you can thank me and Audio Technica later.
Pros: Casual Listening, DJ, Studio, Travel
Cons: they are warm on the ears

Wow. I have never had this great a pair of headphones. I'm really hard on my headphones, and these have no sign of use. They still sound amazing, and are the BEST headphones I have ever had. I'm pretty sure these will be the last pair of headphones I buy. (Unless I decide to buy them in white as well. :p)
Pros: Casual Listening, gaming, OFFICE
Cons: kind of uncomfortable after 5+ hours

These headphones are really nice, I like the fact that nothing is overpowered like bass or treble, everything is so equal, if you are big on bass, these can reach that demand, if you're not, don't worry, it's not overpowering! Nice pure sound is really why I like them!
Pros: Casual Listening, Film/Video Production, Travel
Cons: is there any cons? nope

these headphones are very good. The audio quality is top notch. They are pretty huge, but you'll get used to it in no time. They are the perfect for sitting in your house and listening to music or editing audio or whatever you'd do. They aren't noise canceling, and have some sound leakage, but are great in any situation you'd need huge headphones for. The coiled cord and metal spring mechanism at the end of the cord are interesting and cool. great price also.
Pros: Casual Listening, Film/Video Production, gaming, OFFICE, Studio, practically indestructible cord
Cons: Not very portable

Spring broke during first week of use

The sound is ideal; however, during the first week of use, the spring came dislodged and tore a hole in my finger. Unfortunately, the spring was bent beyond repar. It's really a shame tha t such a great product is tarnished by this fatal flaw.
Pros: general sound quality
Cons: Build quality
