[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My granddaughter absolutely loves her doll. She loves playing with smaller dolls because they fit in her doll house. She has bright shining brown flowing hair. If there is wine complaint it would be the back brace is hard to connect and and it doesn’t not stay in place. I like the idea of the back brace because it gave me time to talk about why she wears the brace.

Amazing inclusion

My daughter has scoliosis and while she hasn’t needed a back brace finding a doll like her means a ton to her. Thank you Matel!

Thank you so much for making this doll! We haven’t gotten her yet but saw a quick story on our local news so I ordered one! My daughter was diagnosed at 11 and wore a brace for 2 and a half years… she watched the story and started to tear up- this made her feel seen!!! She is now out of her brace but still remembers what having to wear it for 18+ hours a day was like. Thank you Mattel for thinking of all the kids who have this come.

We stumbled across this Chelsea in Target today and we were so happily surprised! My daughter is 7 and has been wearing her brace for a year now. She got so happy, saying “she looks just like me!” Thank you Mattel!

Doll that has Scoliosis

I think it’s so wonderful that a doll that has Scoliosis has been introduced. I had severe Scoliosis and wore a brace that went from my neck to my pelvis for 5 years. I then had major surgery. The experience shaped my life. I can’t imagine how great it would have been to have a doll like me. Thank you Mattel for this awesome creation!!!

I Feel Seen

I grew up with scoliosis and wore a back brace full time for 3 years of my life. I only knew one person who had one like me, and one person who had worn one in the past. As a result felt very self conscious and like people didn’t understand. This is the fill I wish I had had as a child , and I got one as an adult to fill that hole in my soul. Thank you!

INCLUSIVITY MATTERS!!!!

I am an adult with scoliosis and bought this doll simply from how excited I was to find out there was a doll with scoliosis! Younger me would have loved a doll like this and now as an adult collector of Barbie dolls this is truly a meaningful doll for my collection. I love the direction Mattel is taking to include a more diverse set of characters with differences!!

A fun little intro to differences

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This adorable Chelsea doll has a sweet and friendly face - you almost don't notice that she's wearing a brace! I think that play is a fabulous way to get kids accustomed to these small differences and not think them odd. The hair is a gorgeous auburn (I'm a bit jealous). We love Chelsea's lack of exaggerated adult figure. Her dress is a bit sparse feeling but at the price point you can't go wrong!
