Great gps! The tracking and navigation works great, battery life is solid, and easy to use. The two way messaging was slower than I had hoped. Messaging honestly didn't work in the country I was in, its technically illegal where I was so it could be limited, works great in other countries like US, Canada, Mexico, UK. If your purchasing for use in restricted countys maybe look into if garmin doesn't allow messaging.

Major inprovement

The Mini 2 has been a big improvement in reliability of Bluetooth connection and speed of messaging compared to my Delorme Explorer and original Mini. The only negative is not being able to use Earthmate anymore which had all my saved tracks, waypoints, and contacts, and I can't access all that info anymore because I don't have a "compatible device".

Upgrade from old one

I got this to upgrade from the old one I had that didn't seem to be working properly. It instantly sends texts back and forth and shares your location. This is easy to pair with your iPhone and I highly recommend if you're on the fence about upgrading to do it and pull the plug. You won't regret it.
