Little clunky UI. However once set up. It works great. Able to send receive messages in wooded camp. Haven't used SOS feature...hopefully never will

Excellent little device to keep you in touch with family and friends with a world wide reach. Synced with a cell phone or used as a stand alone device it's nice to know that I can reach out when out of range of a cell service or worst case scenario the cell service goes down. Using the iridium satellite system I can use it as a communicator, navigation device, or a SOS beacon. Small enough to take wherever you go... Don't leave home without!

Perfect for the Field

For many years I have used Garmin products (GPS and inReach). This is not my first inReach as I have an older model that I love. I recommend two-way satellite communication devices to all the folks I work with. For the most part inReach hits everything I want in remote communication. If you want a small but powerful package, get this unit.

Never go anywhere without it

Bought this last spring and have put it though the paces. Took it to Great Slave Lake on a 6 day fishing trip to the East Arm. Was able to keep on touch with family and send texts through both my smart and the device. No issue with reception that far north. Took it on a 7 day sheep hunt in Western Alberta, no issues to report. Both times the battery usage was down to about 60% after about 7 days. Great peace of mind to know that if something went wrong, I am able to get help. In the past year, this device has spent about 4 weeks in the backcountry.
