Not great for communicating with others

Did a hunt in backcountry with no cell service. Three of us had these. Communication via text was intermittent, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Not very user friendly either.

Great product, keeps me safe when driving in locations without cell service.... I live in a National Park so this happens quite often..... and during any of my big back country adventures!

great great great product, allows me to stay in touch with loved ones no matter where i am without using sat phone minutes. the map and staying on route functions are minimal but helpful and charming.
unfortunately very expensive and requires a subscription to actually use sat messaging but cool technology

Great product

I took this with me on a 5 day backcountry hunt and it worked flawlessly. I was able to text with my wife letting her know I was ok and she was able to see my location with the check in position. The ability to text through the app on my iPhone made communication very easy. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Best tool for backcountry peace of mind. Will be taking on my third thru hike this year - wanted to update to the better battery and user interface. The 1 is still super solid but alas.... I'm a gear nerd

The inreach mini 2 gives me piece of mind on all of my sketchiest adventures. My parents are also a huge fan of knowing where I'm at when I'm "way out there".
