Not what I expected

Didn't get to test the SOS feature, assume it works. Went on a back country hunting trip, three of us were hoping to use this tool to be able to communicate and locate each other. Communicate functionality was so so, one InReach wouldn't communicate with the others well at all. No functionality to be able to locate the other hunters, without sending a text with coordinates and then plugging into another app that has offline mapping.

Great battery life, does it's duty

Bought it to clip to my bag for emergencies, and when I'm out past cell signal. Does it's job just fine. I don't bother turning it off ever. Just charge it the night before I head out, and let it ride the rest of the time. Hasn't come close to dying yet.

Not cheap but working great! It took a while to get through the set up and download the Apps to my Iphone but its working well now. I spend alot of time in the deep woods. I am older and disabled so it gives me an added level of safety.

Peace of mind

I bought the Mini 2 a little over a month ago mostly because I take several trips annually to a remote area of Maine where cell service is spotty at best. I tested it in several locations near home in upstate NY to get used to its features, and to get my emergency contacts some idea of what to expect from check in messages. During my recent week long hunting trip to Maine, I routinely sent "starting my trip" and "ending my trip" messages, and my contacts at home were able to see my locations on their phones. With that trip behind me, I've downgraded to the "enabled" plan which should meet my needs until the next extended trip. Accuracy of locations was very impressive and the device never failed to connect to the satellites. It is meeting my expectations and provides a safety net and peace of mind.

Confused

I like the concept of the Mini 2 but getting it set up and running like it is supposed to has been a challenge. I bought it to use primarily when hunting and snowmobiling. I have yet to figure out how to make it so someone (my wife) can track me while it is in use. I used it while hunting with the hope that if something happened the SOS feature would work. I will keep trying to get it set up so when I go snowmobiling it will be more useful.

Perfect tracking tool for the outdoor adventurer

The Mini2 is the perfect portable GPS tool for street nav or outdoor trekking. I'm leaving the country next year and wanted my child and family to be able to see my location while away.
