My wife got the Inreach Mini 2 for me because I am 67 and hunt alone in very rugged terrain. It gives me a secure feeling knowing help can be had with a push of a button if I am injured.

Does what I need it to do.

I used it for a solo canoe trip in the Boundary Waters after renting sat-com devices for several years. Figured I'll get my money's worth after 2-3 more trips. I like the compactness and light weight. Carabiner makes it easy to clip to a PFD or belt loop. Texting is tedious, but I didn't try linking it to my iPhone for fear of depleting my phone battery. I'm sure that's an easier way to send text messages. No complaints so far other than there's a definite learning curve to understanding how to use all the features.

the mini2 is a very neat device, but the messenger App. is a mess and I can't get it to work for all features.

Very helpful on an international trip

I used my inreach on a trip to Chile where I knew I wouldn’t have signal during a good chunk of it. The inreach made it easy to communicate with my family in USA at very affordable prices.

Wish I never bought it, hope to return for refund

Could not use Mini 2 device as mi iPhone did not receive the verification text code from the Garmin Messenger app. Had I known of this problem I never would have bought the Mini 2 and wasted all my time trying to trouble shoot it to no avail.
