Recommend for safety

I haven't used my inReach for anything special, but appreciate having it as an additional safety tool when I am out snowshoeing, or hiking in the mountains. Recommend to every outdoor enthusiast. Easy to use, hooks onto your backpack or easily slides into your pocket.

Wish list item.

I received the Mini2 for Christmas and was overjoyed. It had been on my wish list for over a year. I am still learning the nuances of the unit but so far it works just as advertised. I have been life flighted before from a fishing accident, so I know the value of being able to make contact. Fortunately, my cell phone worked for me on that accident, but I really like having a backup device,

Definitely recommend for those off-grid.

I've been very happy so far. Have used it in the backcountry of the Olympics, very far off-grid, and it does what it is supposed to do. Haven't (and hopefully never will) used the SOS function, but can confirm the other functions like text, status update, map locations, etc. all work. And am also happy with the 'Explore' and 'Messenger' apps (Android) for use with the device. Would recommend!

Small and provides security

I like to go hiking and biking by myself. Using a mini gives me security for being able to call for help when I need it while hiking/biking in remote areas.

I used this for back country 3 times so far and it has worked great.

Peace of mind!

I received my InReach Mini 2 a couple weeks ago. Set up was extremely easy! I have it with me on my trip to Sedona AZ and thankfully haven’t had to use it, but have great peace of mind while out on the trails many of which do not have cell service. I consider it like a fire extinguisher in that I hope I don’t need it, but if I do it’s there.

Nifty device, works as advertised

Bought this ahead of a multi month trip to South America, with some parts on land and some on cruise ships. I'm now 3 weeks in.
It's a small device, even smaller than I expected from research. Easy to carry/stow. Charges fairly quickly. USB-C is great, as it helps reduce the number of cords.
GPS acquisition time is pretty quick in good (clear overhead) conditions. And if given enough time it can get a fix in some but not all poor conditions (indoors, etc.).
I was able to send check-in messages from the cruise ship everywhere I tried. These went to family and included my location. So they could follow my progress. No charge for the check in messages.
When out of cell coverage, paired with my phone, this let me track position on both the Explore app and a nautical navigation app C-MAP. Which wouldn't have been possible with just the cell phone.
