Love Garmin Inreach Mini 2

Insurance if problem on the trail arises

I bought this unit over a month ago. Still learning many of the features, since they are not obvious. The user manual is helpful. As I get older and have fewer friends that are able to hike with me due to health problems, I find that I hike many times by myself. Thus having a unit such as this, I consider an insurance police on the off chance I have a problem on the trail.

Easy set up. Pricey subscription options. Good piece of gear if I end up in a downded aircraft with no cell service. Good size for carrying along. Haven’t used it … which is good news to me. I guess if I was downed in remote terrain and my mini 2 had contacted SAR successfully I’d be singing its praises… but I’m still fine. Its the product I have and hope to never need.

Hard to send/receive messages

Hard to type and send/receive messages specially in rough ocean. Not very effective when only one phone can be connected via blue-tooth. I will give a plus to the online tracking. Family and friends are able to track movement, great tracking tool.
