Love the peace of mind!

I purchased my inReach Mini at REI last month. I’ve enjoyed two snow-shoeing / fly-fishing outings and it’s worked as advertised. I was able to text and receive messages and track my progress. Love the peace of mind!

Still Learning, but Loving it

I bought this about a month ago so that I can take my grandkids backpacking and their Mom will feel safe. It is turning out to be everything I need it to be!!! (although the SOS test remains...)

DIFFICULT TO USE

Keep in mind that this is my first time using the InReach. That said, I had to refer to YouTube for instructions on how to use and set up the device before embarking on my trip. The whole time I was away the Garmin did not record and plot my waypoints. Why is it that in this modern age we are left alone to find out how to use new technology that we pay dearly for? I, for one, am tired of it. I have since learned that my iPhone 14 is just as capable and maybe more so at sending out a S.O.S. signal (it uses the same satellite network that the Spot S.O.S. device uses). With the Garmin InReach being so difficult to operate, I am now sorry I ever purchased it.

Must Have

I bought this to have another safety device on the boat, can't have enough right? I was 80 miles offshore, texting a buddy who had engine failure 70 miles off. Was able to stay in touch and keep tabs on his safe return. Best part, was able to text my wife that we would be late coming in, but with a full ice box!

No regrets

I haven't had to use the sos but everything else I've tested works as advertised. I mainly have this for sos and emergencies. The inreach mini 2 also pairs with my instinct watch giving me the ability to make a sos call using my watch. Having it in my pack gives me a lot of peace of mind when I'm in remote areas and to me that is worth the price.
