The Mini 2 is a great device. Garmin Express on the Mac is a disaster. It is unbelievably SLOW! Please revise the application

The interface is very user-friendly, and importing maps onto the device is convenient. I was also able to use third-party software to map out a hike. The design of this satellite keeps the device simple, but still useful, allowing you to text through your phone in case you need to say something different from the pre-written texts. The only downside to this device is not with the device itself, but the interface of creating GPS maps to navigate through the Garmin app itself; hence, using a 3rd party software is more convenient for me.

This thing probably saved my life

I bought this just as a little insurance for a hike in the Tetons (ave. elevation for us was about 9500ft). By the second day of the hike, Altitude Sickness was overcoming me soooo I pushed the SOS button and heard those little activation beeps. The SAR helo crew arrived and took us down. Those guys were awesome. The head of the SAR said the precise coordinates made it easy to formulate and execute the extraction. All I can say is Thank you.

Maps was useless bc no service. I am considering upgrading my plan because the texting is a lot easier than pointing my phone at a satellite when I am trying to relax at camp but want to check in with my wife.

I bought this for my daughter. She's planning a trip to Thailand and thought this would be a great piece of equipment to have there or anywhere she hikes. Done the CT and Tetons.

I have only had the opportunity to use this once for tracking purposes but so far I am enjoying knowing that if something were to happen while in the backcountry help easily with inReach. Since I am usually alone whether hiking, backpacking, camping or hunting, it eases my family's mind knowing they can check-in with me or watch my progress as I am moving around. It will definitely be a piece of gear that will be at my side whenever I am in the Backcountry whether alone or with a group of people. The thing that keeps it from being 5 stars is the fact I can only register one device to my account, (I bought one for my daughter as well) since I was also considering purchasing a inReach enable device as an additional device for myself. The prices of the plans are quite expensive if you want to use all the features of the device also kept it from a five star review. Overall I would recommend this device to anyone who finds themselves alone in the backcountry. Happy Trails and Bubbles Up!
