I was excited to buy the inreach version 2.0 because of USB-C charging. This device has been reliable for me on many adventures. I particularly like being able to receive updated weather reports.

Hunting in remote area. No cell service. Was able to text my wife and stay in communication with her. A litte slow but not bad considering where I was . Would recommend this to anyone needing to have contact with the real world.

Always in my pack!

I carry this on hikes, climbs, and backpacking trips to send check-ins and use the live track feature so others can follow my climbs. Battery life is great and it’s small enough to clip to my pack and forget about. I usually send messages through the phone app since typing on the device is slow, but overall it’s easy to use and dependable.

Hard to use. No instructions. Useless

Bought it for an AT hike and could never get it to work with service. Paid for service but never sent messages. No instructions. It can tell time. Only holds a charge for 36 hours. Stopped recording in middle of hike so you lose your hiking record. Unsatisfied

The inReach Mini 2 is super easy to use and is great for backcountry communications. I love how you can "text" people in the backcountry to facilitate meet ups!

It has worked well for me to date for remote camping and travel. I've been easily able to pick a cheap monthly subscription or cancel, temporarily, if not using for several months.

The mini is amazing and adapts to my phone perfectly. It gives me the ability to communicate for fun or emergency needs when I am out in the wilds of Alaska where there is no cell service. The battery lasts a long time as well!
