I am very pleased thus far. I got this as a birthday gift as a reminder that I am getting older and often travel solo. I have been using it to sent trip begin and end alerts as well as check in. It has worked quite well on two day trips thus far. I hope I will never need the SOS button; but glad to have it!

Bought the InReach Mini 2 To use while camping where there's no cell reception in case of any emergencies. Sent some texts back home successfully on my last camping trip and it works as expected.

Got the inReach because I wanted some peace of mind while alpine climbing and backpacking. I haven't had to use it for a satellite call yet but I have used the texting and check in feature frequently to let my friends and family know when I've made it down a mountain safely. It's light and compact with all the satellite comms I would like when climbing. I bring it on every climbing, backpacking, backcountry trip now.

Use in the arctic

I bought the Garmin-inReach Mini 2 for a hunt I was doing in the arctic in August of 2025 and it functioned perfectly. The battery life was good, I only recharged once for the 9 days I was out and may have been able to get by without charging. Temps were between 28 and 60 F.

I really enjoyed it, It got my mom off my back about my backcountry trip, That said this is a massive ask but the typing was pretty awful on it. I wish they had a different method, like if they copied the ipod format almost it would have been quicker. Otherwise fantastic product with everything built in.

I used the inReach Mini2 in the Uintas Mountains in Utah and on a section hike of the CDT. My trek was easily tracked back home by my loved ones. Weather reports on the trail were easy to get and read using the app, and text messages were easy to send using the app. The device is small and extremely lightweight. Adjusting the update time I would send updates was easy and helped conserve battery. In Utah I sent updates every 10 minutes during the day and every 4 hours in camp at night. I got two weather reports and sent several text messages concerning a nearby fire. The battery at the end of the 4-day hike was at 64%. I am extremely happy with my inReach mini 2 and look forward to using it again.

bought this because of the places I like to go and there is zero cell service. Just used it on an antelope hunt with my son and was able to stay in touch with my wife and keep her updated on what was happening.
