Reliable and peace of mind

I bought it for backcountry snowboarding in the Adirondack’s and it was super reliable, I was able to send messages to my family with ease and no problems would definitely recommend. I like the app and the preset messages you can create. But be aware there are subscriptions required and there are a limited amount of messages to be sent. They even offer insurence in case you need to be evacuated and they charge you l. They have a plan called SAR and it’s definitely worth it in case

Great Peace of Mind!

I purchased the Garmin InReach Mini2 because I wanted a simple solution with good battery life to serve as a one-button lifeline should an emergency ever happen when I’m in a remote outdoor area without cell phone service. The new cell phone to satellite text options are good, but it’s also great to know that that with an InReach device I can instantly alert a team of dedicated professionals who can send help in a true emergency.
I like the map sharing features, check-in capabilities, quick messaging, and track-back, all in a lightweight tiny device. The Mini2 also provides a convenient way to communicate with family members via satellite text messaging. This is especially valuable in mountainous regions where cell signals are weak, or in many cases, where there is no cellular infrastructure at all.
It pays to plan ahead and avoid dangerous situations to begin with, but sometimes even “routine” camping or travel in mountain areas can make emergency communication a vital necessity. This device is good to have at the ready.

Awkward learning and google phantoms

I hike regularly and know that a Garmin-type device is the responsible way to be out country. But the device doesn't allow a simple practicing to assure I know how to use it before that time actually arrives. And the messenger app created an incessant auto stream of messages that prompted my Google services to close me out until I removed the app

Peace of Mind is Priceless

I go places and do things where there is no cell signal - on purpose. But, I have a Family and they deserve to know I’m ok. Additionally, I’ve been involved in two different mountain rescue situations, prior to having this device. The functions and capabilities available with this device are exceptional when needed for emergency response.

I needed a way to communicate with my wife as I ride my dirt bike in the hills with no cell coverage. It gives her peace of mind, and me as well. The messages send great, as do pics. Playing with the live tracking still, works well. So far so good!

This is an essential part of my pack out gear. I spend lots of time in the backcountry where cell reception is non existent. This goes everywhere. Have been using it for over 6 years. Have recommended it to many friends and family. Its compact and lightweight design make it easy to stash in a gear pocket, vehicle, boat, or horse. The tracking feature is great for retracing steps after the last adventure. The communication features are intuitive and transition easily from the device to the paired phone.
