Works as it should, sends texts in areas with zero service. Not cheap but great to have when you need it. Need to download app on phone and computer but once you get it going works nice.

Awesome device that keeps me confident in the Outdoor. I was looking for a satellite phone mostly for emergency since I use a GPS watch to navigate. The device is lightweight and simple to use. Didn't take a look at all the features and parameters yet though.
I think that everybody who's aiming to explore a region that is out of phone signal should get himself a inReach! I always bring mine when I trail run or ski tour.

The inreach mini 2 has beautiful real time maps you can use via bluetooth and the Garmin Explore app. Found the way to my destination even though the path ahead of me was washed out from slides/rock falls. Highly recommend. Essential piece of kit in the deep backcountry. This item is great for a beginner and expert alike. If you need navigation that isn't on a cell phone, my advice is to get the inreach +. It has an inbuilt screen to view your location on a variety of satellite and topographic maps.

great reception in the far north. worked well in the mountains. Such a great adjunct for family at home to be able to get a message daily and know that things are good when I am hunting alone. Interfaces seemlessly with the phone via an app. But works without it as well. No problems. great for sending a quick pre written message from anywhere!!
Subscriptions are fairly priced for the fact that if needed this little unit could be a life saver.. Crazy battery life for the size of it... I was anti technology for ever but...... This thing has changed my mind.

Works great regardless of the country you are in . I am very happy with this device. It has worked so far up to 18k plus feet in some remote places . battery life is awesome even at 7degF. I like that you can have saved messages. It is also nice and small and doesn't take up much space. Great if you hike or trek alone frequently. The only negative is the user interface on the web is initially hard to navigate and clunky.

The device has been faster to send and receive vs my old one. It still allows me to send a message without my phone not easy but it works.

Perfect addition to any gear kit

I enjoy adventuring outside of phone service and appreciate the added safety of being able to reach a SAR team or check in with my friends and family. The InReach is fairly easy to use, the monthly plans are affordable and it has an unlimited number of preset messages that can be sent (which I didn't realize before purchasing). I'd highly recommend adding this to any gear setup, especially if you find yourself exploring outside of the range of phones.
