Works great, super light and intuitive interface. We used this little guy multiple times to send locations to friends on backpacking trips/remote car camping trips where not everyone could head up on the same day. Have not had to utilize for any type of emergency situation thankfully but for our use cases (letting each-other know where we ended up making camp or messaging someone to grab something we forgot) it works great!

Great product, easy to use and set up. Used for pre-formed texts to send to significant other when riding in remote areas in Colorado mountains. Fortunately haven't had to use SOS but glad it is there!

Worth it

Light and compact enough for regular use (I'm primarily using it for longer trail runs and ski tours). Has never failed to send/receive a message within 3 minutes of sending (I've only used it in Colorado mountains). Only shame with this product is that for newly purchased inReach devices, the 3 preset messages are fixed by Garmin and are no longer customizable (1- I'm checking in, everything is ok. 2- I'm starting my trip. 3- I'm ending my trip). Although the product can still be used effectively, I think this lack of customizability is a HUGE downgrade.

Just what I needed.

I used this on a nine day solo Bikepacking trip on the Colorado Trail this past summer. It was easy to set up, worked great on the trail, and had a long battery life. I was able to keep in touch with friends and family when out of cell range and it was nice to know if I needed help in an emergency I would have the ability to call for help. The subscriptions were affordable and there were multiple plans to choose from that fit my needs.
