Simple and Reliable

Used the InReach Mini 2 for 3 weeks straight on a recent trip to the Falkland Islands 400 miles in the Atlantic. We were able to stay in touch with family reliably and it was as easy as normal texting. The size, battery life, and ability to upgrade and downgrade the plans as you need make it a no brainer to bring along.

I only have a few days out with the inreach mini 2 but it has been excellent. It's size makes it no hesitation to bring when I am trying to move light and fast. Additionally the seamless interaction with the device and my phone makes using the map and sending check in texts a breeze. The peace of mind this gives my family is also huge. I am notorious for overestimating how quickly I move in the mountains, and on more than one occasion have been several hours later than my previous check in time. The mini 2 allows me to update my family as I go and let them know I am doing fine even when I am several hours later than anticipated!

I had the first gen Mini and recently got the Mini 2. I really like the supporting messaging and mapping apps. The messaging speed also seems to be better than the first gen model. I have used this device well off the grid and have never had any issues. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in touch.

This unit is a nice addition to your backcountry gear. Small and light, well packaged. Comes with a nice carabiner to attach to your bags. Battery charges fast and lasts a long time.

This device has been the perfect backcountry adventure buddy. It's compact, simple, and gets the job done. Granted I haven't had to use the SOS feature, the GPS and messaging have been great. I also have yet to take advantage of the device's full potential but checking elevation, setting waypoints, tracking progress have been my go-to's so far. And friends and family have enjoyed following along from home with links to my coordinates! Highly recommend.
