It usually takes the device a while to send out texts. In hunting situations when you want to keep moving, you might have to sit and babysit it for a little bit. Other than that it has functioned great in the wilderness of Montana!

I really appreciate the peace of mind the inReach gives me. I used it in New Zealand where there was no service and was able to communicate with family and friends and mostly just used it in case of emergency. I love that it syncs with my phone and watch to make sending and reading messages easier. I'd highly recommend for anyone who is in questionable situations where there's no service in the backcountry often.

Highly recommend for outdoor adventures

I live in British Columbia, Canada and spend a lot of time in the mountains. This is a dependable device that I recommend to anyone going in the backcountry. The battery life is excellent, the plans are easy to use, and the peace of mind is worth every penny. I used this for a five day trek in Peru last year and was able to check in with loved ones at any time, any point in the day. I have been on hikes where I have been injured, or have come across someone who is injured. Having this easily accessible safety tool is extremely important in order to find your way and get in contact with others.
