Great set of features, sound quality, and value

Purchased set of six hand-held systems for support of an a cappella chorus. Love them! The chorus immediately noted an increase in sound quality over our previous systems. I love the clear readout of channel, AF and RF strength, etc. -- especially the remote battery monitor. That's saved our bacon during performances! Good noise-free handling characteristics.
Pros: Presentation/Spoken Word, Vocals
Cons: holder is tight - could be easier to release mike.

"A Great System"

I have the ATW 341bc system and I like it a lot. I like the simplicity of set-up. I like the size and shape of the transmitter, it has a great feel to it, it doesn't feel cheap, and it also produces great sound. I have ordered and just received the ATW 371bc condenser transmitter to go along with it. These are the types of transmitter that needs to come with the digital system.
Pros: Vocals

Dropouts plague these systems. Not worth it...

I have 12 of these systems. I have stopped using them. I replaced them all with wired mics, and purchased three choral hanging mics with stand adaptors so I can mic the entire stage with a wired system. I set each receiver's frequency individually so that there were NO conflicts, put in new batteries, and tested the handhelds and the theatermic/bodypac combinations. They worked, but only when there was no one else in the room. The second I put them on my performers, drop-outs galore. The only explanation I can figure is that many of my actors wear hearing aids. They aren't in the same frequency range, but the mics gave me FITS for the entire run of our play. Done with this concept and brand. The only reliable wireless mics I have are vhf not uhf. There is also no depot level maintenance -- I have to send to the factory for any repairs.
Cons: Poor Sound Quality, Pricey / Poor Value, Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

These units sound great, I have used as many as 16 with 16 other brands at the same time with no problems, better to scan the system every time you use them no matter where you are, as there will be surprises, other wirelesses you did not know about and TV stations. The hand held condenser sounds as good as any mike I have used, high pass filter is a handy feature, mid high boost is handy too. Mute/Power loc comes in handy for fidgety actors, speakers and kids. double lock battery compartment is a pain, but works. You must train people how to use the hi-rose connectors properly on the belt packs or tell em to keep their hands off. You must take the time to train the user on the handheld mute and belt pack mute if you don't want problems. Alert light solves a lot of problems when using these systems, also when scanning a bunch of units, make sure the transmitters are spread out a bit, or you will have a lot of harmonics and run out of channels. I have been using wireless since the 80's and what you get for the $ is incredible, I had a 4 channel Vega system from the 80's, you can buy 12 of these for what those cost. You must read the instructions and understand them to get the best performance out of them. been using these systems for over 9 years. Wish the belt packs and mic cases were metal. But then you would just buy the 4000s....:)
Pros: Compact, Durable, Good Audio, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: better read the instructions
I would recommend this to a friend!
