1 flaw

Great design and quality. But it has 1 flaw, a small piece of plastic that clips into the back top of the unit and slows the closing of the lid. This part breaks and pops off. It should be metal. I contacted custyomer service and provided them the details and they sent me a complete new can. Which of course has the same issue.

Not true! This one is excellent in every way: Good looking, slim, quiet and the bags fit perfectly. Expensive, but worth the cost.

This is a very nice, high quality product - especially considering we're talking about a trash can. I was reluctant to go to a foot pedal, but it was the only one in the size I need. I've only had it for a few weeks, and so far I am quite pleased with it. I like the smooth, silent operation. It's also easy to change the bag inside. I use store bought bags, not being willing to pay the price for the simplehuman ones. The generic ones fit fine - you just have to be careful that the bag doesn't show when you close the lid. Not a big problem if it does, but it would spoil the sleek look. I would recommend this product to my friends.

Love this can! It's huge but the nice slim style is perfect for the bathroom. Also great for a small space in kitchen.

Not totally sold

I tell ya, that simple human makes some great trash cans and liners, Best on the market. no bamboozles. This model however, has some flaws. I'm thinking about sending it back. The soft release lid gets stuck open more often than not, requiring some extra steps on the foot lever to dislodge it. The slim profile, while a great space saver, doesn't have enough weight to keep it in place when it's empty. This results in the first dozen or so openings causing the can to shift around on the floor. I find myself having to realign the can back to its original location on the regular. The lid flipping open just causes the thing to go wild. I purchased this over the butterfly model because I liked the liner rim better, but I think I done goofed. It sure looks great though.
