I purchase this trash Can for my new place I love it, all my family uses simple human products however there is a little sustain in the paint of the lid :(.

Right sleek shape, love the stainless, and lid and step work flawlessly BUT the manufacturers use cheap plastic parts in mechanism (specifically hinges). Once the hinges go bad you can NOT replace and so you have to buy entire new can. Planned obsolesence? Or just cost that much less to manufacture they went with plastic?
