great product--it looks wonderful and performs perfectly. it holds a lot of stuff and it has a wide opening at the top so that you can drop a lot of kitchen trash in it. One thing--my townhouse community , like many others, demands that we use dark trash bags. i like your trash bag, but won't be buying them in the future since they are white.
At a time when it seems like quality has been abandoned, we are very impressed with this new trash-can and really love the large size. Highly recommend.
I have owned three different hands free garbage cans, but this blows the competition away. Yes it's a lot more expensive, but hopefully will have a longer life than the previous three. It's super quiet and I love the fact that I can talk to it which makes it perfect when your hands are covered in whatever cooking you are preparing. Thanks for a really nice garbage can.
This can is great when it works, I am on my 2nd replacement in 4 years. But I will say, the can sees allot of use, my wife and I have 6 children, who are older than teenagers, so it’s used allot. If simplehuman ever wants to test a product for longevity and real world use, my household is the place for testing.
This trash can is the best and I do not think I could ever go back to a regular trash can. Hands free makes cooking so much easier and the kids absolutely love telling the can to open and close. lol
Who knew I could be this excited about a trash can?

Let me start by saying: this is not just a trash can—it’s a sleek, silent, garbage-devouring machine. The stainless steel finish makes it look like it belongs in a sci-fi movie, not my messy kitchen. And the soft-close lid? Pure luxury. No more waking up the household with a lid slam heard 'round the world. It’s got a wide enough mouth to toss in pizza boxes (don’t judge me), and the inner liner holds the bag firmly in place—no more playing tug-of-war when it's full. Plus, it hides odors impressively well. You almost forget you’re dealing with actual trash. Is it overpriced? Maybe. Did I still name it "Sir Bin-a-Lot"? Absolutely. If you’re looking to upgrade your waste disposal experience and add a weirdly beautiful appliance to your kitchen, this is the one. 10/10 would throw stuff away again.
