Love this item. I use it on the kitchen counter. The lid is easy to open, it looks great and bags are easy to change.

problem with lid

we have a couple of the trash cans and love them....the compost caddy is the perfect size , shape is nice ...we use it on the counter top rather than the magnetic attachment to the the trash can...the wire 'nibs' essentially acting as a hinge for the lid are too short and come out easily , making the lid aggravating

Convenient

Fits nicely with the simplehuman dual compartment step can and traps odors well. Compost pickup is not available where I live and I don’t have access to any outdoor spaces, however, I still recommend using this for food waste.

This compost caddy is exactly what I needed. Fits perfectly on the side of our dual bin, and is easily portable when needed elsewhere. Highly recommend.

Nice but very small

I thought this might replace our current compost container and have the bonus of being less gross because of the liners. But we find that it can handle less than 1 day's worth of compost for us (HH of 3-4 that cooks most meals).
So we now use it only for smaller items/dinner prep on counter. Otherwise it would use a ridiculous number of liners or require multiple washes/day. It does nicely attach to our trash can and pop on & off as advertised.
