We love the compost caddy. It easily hangs on the side of our simple human trash can. Flip the lid an scrap off plates. Loft off and set on counter while prepping food, etc. Then hang back on holder.

Good Compost Bin But Not Right For Me

First off, this is a really nice compost bin - it's a perfect size for the counter top, it has a nice sleek, minimalist look, and I didn't have any issues with smells. I really wanted to love it but it's just not right for my situation. I don't have a larger compost bin at home (I have to drop my compost off at the local transfer station) and so I wanted a bin that I don't have to empty super frequently. My issue with this one was air flow - no matter how frequently I did empty it (even it it was every 3-4 days) there was always way too much moisture inside the bin. I used the compostable bags that came with it and the moisture would frequently start to disintegrate the bag, causing it to tear while I was trying to empty it. Although it didn't work for me I think this would be a great choice if you can empty it a little more frequently.

Compact and Convenient

Very easy and convenient to use. Small size is actually an advantage as compost needs to be removed every few days from house even when in sealed container such as this one. Compostable custom fit liners are worth using as they are durable and can be placed in the compost. We used to use the five gallon buckets with lids from the hardware store but they developed odors despite regular cleaning. This is the right size and very effective.

I had been curious about composting, but wasn't sure where to start. Purchasing this product was the first step for me. It's so convenient and looks good on my dual trash/recycling can. With the liners, I don't have any odor in my kitchen after a week with food scraps in there!
