I bought this to replace the clunky plastic compost basket my city generously dispensed to citizens to encourage them to follow the new trash protocol. Now the compost caddy sits on my countertop in my food prep area with maximal style and functionality in minimal space.

I purchased this to throw away anything that could smell, such as table scraps and dog food that my dogs don’t finish. It keeps our larger Simplehuman voice and motion sensor can trash from smelling, and it also conserves bags. The Odorsorb bags and pods for our sensor can don’t entirely prevent garbage odors, so I added this for odor control, and I’m glad that I did. I keep it on the counter top and empty it daily. It looks good and works even better!

Pros:

- Kinda small could be hard to dump things into
- Have to be careful when taking it off the dock since you can only grab the back.

This bin fits perfectly onto the Simplehuman 45L (rectangular) trash bin. I looked for a solution for our composting trash when I noted gnats being attracted to our bin under the sink - as a non-expert to the compost trash, I understand this is a rookie move. I found this when looking for solutions and it is perfect. The lid is tight - no smells escape and it is compact enough to fit a few days worth of scraps before needing to be tossed. It doesn't hurt that the trash system is absolutely beautiful. Who ever thought you could say that about trash cans?
