Great compost caddy

This compost caddy is great! With or without bags. The composting bags do compost. They do breakdown in the compost pile which is a plus.
I like that this caddy can stand alone on the counter or be attached to the waste can.
My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is due to the fact that the cover, when closed is not a tight seal. Therefore, fruit flies. Not many but enough to be a little annoyed.
The inner plastic liner is washable.
And because I am frugal, if the compost bag hasn’t started to decompose inside the caddy, I will reuse the compost bag one more time.
I still love this compost caddy and highly recommend it.

Great for Kitchen/Cooking Garbage

I can't live without this caddy. No odors emanate from it. It is lightweight and easy to move around in the kitchen. If you line it with a plastic bag, it's easy to tie off and throw away the contents once it's full. (If I could compost where I live, I would dispose of the contents that way. ) I love this caddy so much that I bought a second one when the hinges failed on the first one. I am giving 4 stars only because the hinge is the weak spot on this item. After opening and closing the lid countless times, the tiny hinges gave out, long before the rest of the device did. I think the hinges should be more sturdy and last longer.

Surprisingly easy and fits into my kitchen workflow

When mounted as a sidecar, the magnetic lid holder is terrific. During large cooking efforts, moving it to the counter or the sink is easy and quick. This is an all-around helpful solution they way a can on my counter or under the sink never was.

This replaced our old plastic one after several years and we're very happy with it. We found that the compostable bags we were using also fit this model, so that was a plus, too.

Love the compost caddy. . The only suggestion I would make is to make it larger. We have the double trash container(one for recycle and the other side for trash). We could use a larger compost caddy. We do like the one we bought. We have been very pleased dealing with simplehuman.
