I quite like the little bin. It attaches nicely to the trash/recycling bin. I love the the bags are compostable. However they do tend to begin disintegrating if you don’t fill the bin within a week. That leads to water from the food waste getting into the bin bottom, and ultimately the bin needing washed with each bag swap. Frankly, that’s the nature of composting. It is a tidy system, and hasn’t led to a rank smell thus far.

Our compost caddy was easily attached/installed to our dual-compartment-rectangular-step-can. If desired, the caddy slides off its mount for a job at the sink or wherever. As for appearance, the caddy looks great, both by itself and as an extension of the step-can. Any smells we've noted by the caddy's contents seem easily contained—especially since our caddy is emptied daily.
