I love how it can be oriented the way you prefer (left or right side of the sink). Another thing I like is that its weight is balanced. One concern I had was that if I loaded only cups on the cup shelf, that it may tip the entire rack, but it holds steady. Very happy with this rack. Also easy to clean with a rag.
This is the second simplehuman dish rack I’ve purchased. They no longer sell the rack I had had for years, so I thought I’d give their new design a try.
I purchased the large rack and live the size. The mug and wine glass racks are great. The draining system is great. The silverware rack…not so great. It has 3 large sections and one small section to put silverware, but only one attach point where the rack hangs on the main frame of the unit. So you have to try and balance the silverware in each section or the silverware holder will fall off. It really needs 3 attach hooks to keep it secure and balanced while it’s attached to the rest of the rack. Also a better internal rack system to hold more plates would be nice.
Use it to replace a drying 'mat' on the side of the sink. It accommodates all of the dishes, glasses, and silverware and the water drain is very effective into the sink.
A dishrack is not just a dishrack. This allows you to add or take away certain components, such as the wine glass holder, and it allows you to pivot the drain to the sink in any direction. Assembly is very easy, too easy in fact, as I over-thought it and couldn't figure out how the silverware bracket hung (because it literally just hangs on the edge....simple). Stylish, functional and the large/standard size does not take up too much countertop space. I also bought the compact size and it too is remarkably large for a small area. I recommend both, but the standard size holds more items if you hand wash a great deal. LOVE IT
