durable and really stainless

Dishracks have been the bane of my existence. The coating on wire racks would crack too soon, leaving rust stains. Plastic ones would deform and break. I even bought another vendor's stainless dishrack thinking it would be "the ultimate" only to find that they had used conventional solder and it, too, started to rust.
My brother-in-law has had this dishrack for years and it has really held up. I snuck a peak over Thanksgiving and there isn't the slightest mark of rust. I am truly impressed

Best Dish Rack Around PERIOD!

I had an older version of this simplehuman dish rack for 13 years before I had to finally get a new one. I tried to go cheap and get one that had a wine rack and extended and it only lasted 2 weeks before my husband begged me to order another simplehuman dish rack. There just isn't another dish rack that has the durability, quality, sturdiness and space of this dish rack.

This rack cleverly rethinks dish drying by building-in a drip catcher and draining the excess water through a spout into an adjacent sink. Simple but effective!

simple Human for complex lives

Moved into a house with a single kitchen sink so forced to have a drain board on the counter. Everything I looked at was crap and same old same old. This dishrack is nothing to be ashamed of. Innovative design covers all needs. If I have to have a dishrack on the counter, this is the ONE.

New dish rack design - good & bad

I had the original. When the drip tray broke for a second time. I bought the new model instead of the replacement drip tray.
What’s Better:
1-It’s shorter.
2-Drip “spout” detaches for cleaning. (On the old model it got very nasty. Once taken apart never worked the same.)
3-They say the surface resists water spots. I haven’t had it long enough to confirm.

What’s Worse:
1-On the old model, the cup drip tray was retractable - you could slide it under the rack when not in use. On the new model it cannot be tucked away. It’s all or nothing. Juts out awkwardly so I’m not using it.
2-The drip “spout” is much wider now. Clunky and awkward looking.

Overall, I’m happier with the new model mostly because it’s not so unnecessarily tall and it looks like I’ll be able to clean the crud from under the drip spout without breaking it.
