Miss the knife compartment

I bought this to replace my decade-old former model, which had grown very worn. It is a worthy upgrade in most respects: it promises to be easier to keep clean, and the drainage system works better. But I really miss the dedicated knife compartment, which did a good job at keeping knives from brushing against each other and other utensils, thus staying sharp. I had saved the compartment from my old rack, but it does not fit in the new one: the utensil compartments are shaped slightly differently. I would gladly pay for one that does fit as an accessory.

Downspout not angled enough

Water pools in the downspout because it’s not angled enough. A bit disappointing since it’s such an obvious design flaw.

We keep an impeccable kitchen, with lots of simple human products. I tried several times over the years to make an attractive looking dish drying station but this version takes the cake. I like the subtle revisions as well since this is a gen 2. We use it without the wine glass dryers to save space, and it looks great with a stainless steel kitchen.

Cleaning tray

This is an outstanding purchase. It is the correct size for our dish load and prevents any water from getting on our counter. We are delighted to discontinue our use of the dishwasher and go back to cleaning our dishes by hand.

Accommodates everything, catches all the drips

Bought it mostly because with its predecessor we were getting water mineralization on the new granite countertop. This is great - it is big enough and well designed enough to accommodate all our dishes, and the drain means the water doesn’t just turn to slime underneath. Easy to clean when it needs it.
