A must for pet food

I love these pet food cans. I have a large one for the dogs, medium for the cat and medium for the rabbits. They look nice and keep food organized and fresh in my multi-pet household.

Oo-oh that smell!

Mechanically and visually, this is everything that I had hoped for. However, when I opened the package, there was an overwhelming plastic fume smell that was so strong that my air purifier kicked into overdrive. I've had this sitting, unused, on my countertop for over two months now and the off-gassing persists to a degree that I don't feel comfortable storing kibble in it. I've tried washing the plastic liner and airing it out to no avail; plastic fumes still hit me in the face whenever I open the lid and I am deeply concerned that despite being marketed as 'BPA Free' it may not be food safe as I have never experienced this sort of smell with any plastic food container before. Overall, I deeply regret my purchase since it's clear that I won't be able to use it for its intended purpose and it was expensive.

As with all SimpleHuman products, this is totally worth the money. It's solid, sturdy, and has a simple design. I love the removable bin for cleaning and the magnetic durable scoop. One challenge is how the lid works. I wish it has a spring open function and/or a soft close function. If this isn't important to you, then consider my review 5 stars!
