This works perfectly, and even though you would think the recycling side being small would mean less recycling it means more in our house. This is really a very welcome addition to our kitchen and home.

Gold colored Recycler

This recycler is not only makes your life easier by combining recycle and trash in one container. Also since you never have to touch the lid of the recycler, it always says stays clean. And the attractive look of this recycler plus its odor absorber pods allow to place this recycler in the kitchen.

58L Step Recycler

My previous trash can was from SimpleHuman, and I had it for more than 20 years. When I moved to a smaller place, I needed something to handle both trash and recycling. I never thought I’d find one can that did both, but SimpleHuman came through. I love my recycler! It does exactly what I need and looks great doing it!

Really Good, Just Not Great.

I was waiting months for the restock of this gold recycler, and while I still love it better than anything else on the market - I do have some critiques of areas of improvement. (AND A TON OF GREAT THINGS TO SAY TOO)
1. The step to open the flap seems a lot lower quality than my prior simplehuman trash can’s.
2. The above prior trash can was also gold, but a warmer gold. If you are expecting that shade of gold in person when it comes in, it’s not the same. It’s still very pretty but a much softer muted gold. Which I actually quite like now after living with it for a few days, just wasnt expecting that drastic of a difference in shades to where they needed to be separated further (which worked for having on opposing ends of kitchen and dining area).
3. This may just be my ignorance, so will fully own that if so, but for the recycling portion I wish simplehuman made a recycling bag that fit in that compartment too. Because I live in an apartment and all recycling must be bagged; which must be one that’s approved for recycling purposes. So to have one of your bags work the same way for that purpose would be handy!
4. This trash can is GREAT for a single person or couple - but is a tad small for people with families and kids. I am single with a dog and cat and probably go through a bag every few days.

Overall it is the nicest looking trash can I’ve ever seen in someone’s home - and I thankfully have it! I wish they eventually release a sensor version because that and the step lever quality are my only 2 real notes amongst everything. Would highly recommend this trash can or any simplehuman one to anyone out there.
