This heater will eventually run hot eventually on medium setting set at 77 degrees. Depending on what type of home you live in you could easily trip the fuse/breaker. This heater needs its own dedicated fuse outlet and a 12 AWG extension cord if you are running short on length to the area you want heated. (although never advised to use an extension). When turned on it will show your last temperature where you MUST set your temperature that will flash that new temperature only. On medium setting the heat will exit 3 sides and not the front of the unit. When reached at your set temp. (that you cannot see) it will run cool air and not shut down. This is one tricky unit. I have none of the above issues with a simple small cheaper forced air heater. I am really on the fence with this heater. I would not leave it unattended ever. Too much hassle to return and it does works. Don't buy it for anyone except for yourself and it will be you yourself who operates it and pays mind to it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
