Battery life is one ding against this unit.
Another issue appears to be failing usbc ports - covered under warranty but a hassle. I’ve had 4 failing usb ports in the last 2 years

You just need to work hard, earn the money and wait for a deal. There was a time when I would rather get a renewed x1 carbon than try a different model. That doesn't mean that x1 carbon is perfect, but I appreciate having it. Have one, test it out!
