I bought 4 of these and have put 2 of them together so far. I have decent handyman skills and was able to build the first chair in an hour and the second chair in 45 minutes. The assembly was fine. Wood was sanded. There were a few knots which were small. The assembled chair is not oversized like a true adirondack but it's not too small either. I'm 5'11" and 190 lbs and the chair fits me well with some room to spare on either side. Sitting in the chair is comfortable, the angles seem to match the original. My only complaint is the way the chair folds down, it doesn't fold down as flat as I think it could. That being said it is nice that they fold down so that they can be stored when not in use for extended periods of time. I did read that others have found that the screws work loose, so I used a little liquid nails in the assembly process to keep that from happening. I cannot comment on the longevity as I just purchased them but for the price I paid I'd like to see them last at least two years. I'm glad I went ahead and bought four of these chairs. I would recommend this product to any of my handy friends.

I ordered 4 of these a month ago. My family put them together one Saturday evening. It took around 45 minutes and it was time well spent. They completed our picnic area. I just ordered 2 of the ones with the pull out ottoman.

There was probably 30 pieces for you to screw together. Does not say when buying that you have to put every single piece together!

For the price, these chairs are a steal! The quality is better than I expected. Assembly was easy, but it does take time, even with a power screw driver. Allot 45 minutes per chair. Maybe less if you're not doing it in front of the TV like I was. Folding mechanism is very clever. Hopefully. . . they'll last a good long time!

Very good quality for price if you’re handy

This is a pretty good chair if you’re willing to put some elbow grease and don’t mind DIY projects. My husband told me to give 5 stars! We bought 4 of these:
Pros: the drill holes are aligned and the directions are clear with pre-stamped numbers on the wood. They fold nicely. It’s actually a pretty good size- some people say it’s kid-sized, but my 240 lb husband fits pretty well and it’s sturdy.
Cons: Need to lightly sand the wood because you can get splinters- but lightly sand only. Once sanded, it’s best to stain it or seal it, although I think it already comes with a sealant. Once sanded and stained, it’s so beautiful and comfortable! Especially if you put a cushion. Again, it’s only $50 something dollars each so you if you’re okay with spending some time putting it together and sealing it, you’ll be happy with your purchase.

This adirondack chair looks good, but the wood is soft and will split when assembling. The size and design are not a problem, just the materials.
