Large embroidery frame

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got my hands on the Brother SE2000 embroidery machine and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed! When I opened the box, I was happy to see that Brother had included a printed manual and a quick-start guide. While online manuals are great, there's nothing like having a "real" one to refer to when you need it.
The machine comes with a complete Sewing Accessory Kit (bag included) and a Foot Set with 4 Bobbins (3 bobbins located in the sewing drawer and 1 in the machine). I also found an embroidery frame set, grid sheet set, power cord, and foot pedal. It was like opening a treasure chest!
Now, I have to be honest, the directions weren't the clearest. As I tried to figure out the first step, I ended up loading the bobbin. But, there was one big step that wasn't mentioned - you have to set your language on the LCD screen first. Once I figured that out, everything fell into place.
The automatic needle threader works like a charm, and the embroidery set is quite large, giving you ample space to embroider bigger projects like names, monograms, and images. And, the best part is that you don't have to remove the fabric and move it over like I used to do with my previous machine.
The machine has consistent speed control, is smooth and quiet, and produces nice even stitches. But, my absolute favorite feature is the automatic thread cutter. It's like magic! There are no continuous threads between designs, which makes everything look so clean.
One of the safety features that I loved was the ability to change the presser foot without having to turn off the machine. This is a huge plus for me because I always have trouble seeing when the light goes out.
The display is crisp and clear with bright colors, and it's easy to edit and view designs. And, setting up the WiFi was a breeze. I was able to connect my phone via the Artspira App, which allowed me to upload really neat designs to my machine.
It does take a bit of time to fully learn this machine, but it's worth it. The hands-free operation of the start/stop button is a huge time-saver once you have everything set up. And, watching the machine work is mesmerizing!
Overall, the Brother SE2000 is quiet, advanced, and provides hands-free embroidering. I would recommend this machine to anyone with a moderate amount of both sewing and technology experience because this machine combines the two.

Great Machine for both functions

I am so happy that I chose this machine. I as using a singer sewing//embroidery machine that became so cumbersome with software "fixes" which didn't really make it problem free. I researched many different machines before purchase. This machine makes embroidering easy, and the projects so far have come out beautifully. I am an older woman and I learned to use this machine with a very short learning curve.

Old dogs can learn new sewing machine

My first machine in 50 years. I have been using a singer since I was 14.. and finally decided I wanted one that does more than sew and zig zag. I researched and like this one it cut jump stitches. .. it has taken some getting use to a new machine and learning the things it can do…but it has been a sanity saver. Love it

Nice machine, but one big flaw!

I have only used the embroidery function on this machine, and it embroiders beautifully - as well as my Babylock Ellageo! The wireless transfer of designs from my computer to my machine is awesome. However there is one thing that drives me absolutely batty! When it finishes a color step, the hoop moves away from the design (so that the foot is close to the edge of the hoop), then back to where the next step begins. There is no predicting which direction it will move. I design and embroider mostly small items that are floated on top of my stabilizer (felties, ornaments, key fobs, etc.) and when test stitching, I have one or more small pieces of materials on top of my stabilizer. When the hoop moves, then moves back to the design area, the foot catches on my materials! I have to be sure to tape all four sides of my materials down, and that just adds extra work for me. I have searched for a solution with zero results. I have never had a machine that has done this - and I cannot get used to it! Please fix this with an update!

This machine is amazing and offers a great deal of flexibility for the price. While brother offers a great deal of support, it's hard to get hooked in and actually receive the report support you need when you need it. I wish they would send out online tutorials to get you started once you register your machine. Live tutorials would be awesome. Something where people could go on line and watch live and make comments.

Excellent machine

I’m extremely happy with my purchase of the Brother SE2000. The manual and online support are incredible resources to help users make the most of the machine’s capabilities. The machine runs beautifully and has an extensive list of features that make it a smooth ride (cutting jump stitches, needle threader, digital display with guidance if needed, etc).
One note is that the wireless LAN function for transferring embroidery files is only compatible with windows systems - Mac users will need a usb flash drive.
