Holds Temp for an entire round of golf

My daughters gave me this 30 oz model over a year ago. I use it on the golf course; and it keeps cold or hot (whichever I am doing on that day) for the entire 18 holes. Like some other reviewers, I found the unit cumbersome, unwieldy and requiring two hands to hold while drinking. That was at first, then I discovered the slide- on handle...wonderful..no more problems at all. Recently I learned that the unit is dishwasher safe. Great! However, I need some advice. Must I detach the rubber grommet before putting into the hot cycle on my dishwasher? Also, is there anything special I must do to the lid? so that the water gets down into and around the magnet? Should I (or can I ) disassemble the lid??

Mag slider is the bomb much needed to allow closure to anything getting in an open slot like previous versions I am going to replace all of the other collections of my drink ware with the mag slider
