I have had my mug for some time now but it does NOT keep my coffee hot or even warm all day. It stays hot for about an hour and then stays warm for another hour. I bought it because the reviews said that it would keep it hot or cold all day.....not so for my mug. I use my mug everyday.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I use this tumbler every day since I bought it! Fill it 3/4 full of ice add cold water or any liquid of choice cover and the ice lasts all day, just keep topping the liquid off!! And the tumbler does not sweat and can be comfortably held with ice cold or boiling liquids in it!!

I love my yeti.so mushing had to have two.one for my water and the other for tea and I bought the black one with the lid that slides.it does not leak when turned upside down. This is the best ramble I have ever had .love my 30oz yeti.

We have 2 of these and it's amazing as everything YETI is amazing. We made Iced tea for a 16hr drive road trip with one overnight in a hotel. The tea was made in the beginning of the trip and finished half way through the second day (with small ice chunks still in it). If that doesn't impress you, I don't know what would.
The only downside we've found yet on the YETI tumblers is that the lids are no spill proof.
Overall we love it!

I drink things very slowly, so I am the ultimate tester. My sweet tea stays cold ALL DAY! Literally from 8am to 4:30 when I leave work. If I have ice, it doesn't really melt, either! Love, love, love!
