I was quite happy with my 'off brand' Yeti-type tumbler and decided that maybe if I 'shot the wad' and bought an actual Yeti, I'd be even happier. Didn't turn out that way. The Yeti doesn't keep my drinks cold any longer than my off brand, which is still a long time and fine but my complaint is that I got the one with the Magslider lid but every time I take a sip, I dribble iced tea on my shirt. No matter how I drink out of the cup, it happens with the Yeti but not with the off brand. I'll be returning my coveted Yeti cup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got this for Christmas from my wife because I drink a lot of cold drinks, particularly soda, in large amounts. Usually I add ice and by the end, it is usually watered down. I've had insulated cups in the past and they were decent at keeping my drinks the same temperature. However, my new Yeti is simply above and beyond. I filled it with soda and a couple of ice cubes, to add that extra chill, and when I finished it a few hours later, the ice cubes had barely melted. I've also put a Slurpee in it and it hardly melted at all. Which was pretty amazing since those melt like crazy.

I was so impressed with the yetti I ended up buying 5 more for my family and purchased the 10 oz just right for a single cup of coffee so now we have 5 30oz and 5 10 oz keep things hot and cold for long periods of time in .
