The Totem Max 60L waste and recycling bin is excellent. It’s so easy and I love the different compartments. Who knew a bin could be organised! The size is perfect and it has helped us to recycle more. I love the fact that it’s a two in one waste and recycle which keeps it looking sleek, compact and space saving! Who knew a bin could look so good!
Great design! Cleaver how the 3 bins are all incorporated into 1 tower. Bottom bin runs on wheels so slides right out from underneath the top one. Top lid is spring operated and makes it easy to open with your hands full.
This bin is fabulous. The movement of the recycling drawer is smooth, the lid glides up when pressed and it comes spotlessly clean with a quick wipe down. I have saved so much space in my kitchen too. No-one should be as excited by a bin as I am with this.
As written by most other reviews, it feels pricey for a bin but, having used the bin for a few weeks now it really is worth it. I’ll list all the plus points: - lightweight and compact. So easy to take the compartments in/out, you don’t trap your fingers/hands or catch your nails - It has made us SO much more considerate about how we dispose of waste. - we don’t need to change the waste bin as often because the odour control pad really does trap smells (even more so if teamed with a bin powder!) - The small unit for fresh food is perfect to sit on the countertop when preparing food and chucking out into the composter. Our 3yr old enjoys doing that. It’s easy to wash out each time so doesn’t go off/smell. We put this compartment in the recycling drawer as everything in there is dry like cardboard/plastic/glass etc so it doesn’t get mucky on the outside - it’s pretty and doesn’t show up kids fingerprints like stainless steel does - the recycling unit glides like a dream but fits snug underneath so doesn’t look untidy or like it’s not attached - the design is excellent. I am obsessed with cleaning and bins are just germ ridden but this bin is so easy to clean each section and there are no edges/grooves for bits of food/fluid to get trapped into. Nearly every other bin I looked at had places for grime to sit like the hinge, the lip on the lid etc and this one doesn’t. It sounds silly but it’s just a well thought out design - you can use standard liners and they still catch onto the bin just fine. The Joseph liners are decent but not necessary given the price difference
